Jewel Changi Airport Guide

About Jewel Changi Airport

While most people associate airports with transit and layovers, Singapore's Changi Airport is a must-see tourist destination in and of itself. Jewel Changi Airport, the latest addition, transforms Singapore's world-class aviation hub into a genuinely stunning lifestyle destination. This ten-story hub, which is seamlessly connected to Terminal 1's Arrival Hall and accessible via pedestrian walkway from Terminals 2 and 3, is a glittering mix of culinary outlets, top-notch shops, and breath-taking spaces.

At Jewel Changi Airport, see how art and nature are intertwined. This dome-shaped building, designed by a group of world-renowned designers, will feature a variety of spectacular sights that combine nature and human creativity. Visitors to this urban retreat may marvel at the 40-meter-high Rain Vortex—the world's largest indoor waterfall—and discover green nature amidst the Forest Valley's 2,000 trees.

Jewel Changi Airport will alter your perception of an airport by giving guests unique activities to experience. Foggy Bowls—mist-filled play spaces that give the impression of being in the clouds—and a beautiful 14,000-square-meter rooftop park with gardens, walking pathways, and play attractions are among the highlights.

The Airport, however, does not stop at that. With an array of exquisite dining and shopping options, Jewel Changi seeks to keep its tourists entertained throughout the stay. In fact, the Airport also has a hotel of its very own, catering especially to its in-transit tourists.

Tourist Attractions in Jewel Changi Airport

With its astonishing range of attractions, Jewel Changi Airport has transformed itself into one of Singapore’s biggest tourist spots. Most of the Airport’s attractions are natural, living up to the city’s reputation as the City of Gardens. The Canopy Park, sprawling across the topmost floor of the Airport, is home to topiaries, gardens, mazes, and bouncing nets, calling children and adults alike. The Shiseido Forest Valley is Jewel Changi’s very own indoor forest, also home to the largest indoor waterfall in the world. The Airport also features the Changi Experience Studio, a digital studio offering a range of VR and digitally interactive games that seeks to take one behind the scenes and discover how the airport truly functions.

Canopy Park

Sprawling across the Fifth Level, Canopy Park whisks one away from an urbanic, bustling airport and into the heart of a natural wonder. With its excellent range of activities, the Park welcomes both the young and the young at heart. The Petal Gardens at Canopy Park brings the best of seasonal blooms in one room, while Topiary Walk features a stunning range of artfully crafted topiary animals. The Foggy Bowls are a special fun attraction for toddlers, while the Discovery Slide doubles up as a playground slide and an observation platform. Visiting the Canopy Park is a great way to cover some of the best attractions on the Jewel Changi tickets, as it houses other secondary venues including the Bouncing Nets, the MIrror Maze and the Hedge Maze.

Shiseido Forest Valley

Shiseido Forest Valley quite literally, takes one into the heart of the forest. Doing justice to Singapore’s reputation as the ‘City of Gardens’, the green contained in the Valley is truly astonishing, bringing together more than 900 palms and trees from across the world. At the very core of the garden stands the infamous Shiseido Waterfall, extending from the ceiling to the floor. The Forest Valley features a number of walking trails, some of which wind their way to the waterfall, while some make their way to the Canopy Park on the topmost floor. The Forest Valley also has a baggage storage at its entrance.

Manulife Sky Nets

Bouncing: The Sky Nets are, quite simply put, a giant trampoline net. Located amidst the canopies of Canopy Park, bouncing on the Sky Nets promises a feeling akin to flying. Children and adults alike can enjoy this attraction, wading through the nets that often give way and cause one to tumble forward. At its highest point, which goes up to about 8 meters above the ground, one truly feels like they can touch the sky.

Mirror Maze

A traditional Mirror Maze, this labyrinth goes out of its way to boggle your senses. Players must tackle row after row of mirrors, trying to discern between reality and reflection as they make their way towards the end of the tunnel. Careful- or you might walk smack into glass! Located inside the Canopy Park, the Mirror Maze is flanked by an overhead canopy that stretches along its length, giving one the impression of walking under an endless bower.

Hedge Maze

Priding itself as Singapore’s largest hedge maze adventure, the Hedge Maze is one of the best attractions that one can explore on their Jewel Changi tickets. Visitors will have to navigate their way out of a maze walled by hedges that exceed them in height. There’s a watch tower at the very heart of the maze which, upon climbing, offers an encompassing, panoramic view of the entire landscape. So if you’re feeling lost, a quick climb and look can help you conquer the rest of the way!

Canopy Bridge

A walk through the Canopy Bridge almost feels like walking through the crowd. At 23 meters off the ground, the Bridge provides a gripping vantage of the sprawling Canopy Park below. The glass bottom of the bridge makes the experience twice as ecstatic, and so does the fog that emits from the two ends of the bridge. The Canopy Bridge offers clear views of the Rain Vortex as well, and can be a great spot to catch the evening light and sound show from.

Discovery Slide

On one hand, the Discovery Slide is quite literally, a traditional playground slide. On the other hand, it’s an architectural marvel. It’s hard to miss the slides as you walk through the Canopy Park, with its elaborate black-yellow walls, stumped legs and occasional mirrors clinging to its facade. The Discovery Slide is actually a set of 4-in-1 slide playgrounds, ideally suited to adults and older children. Visitors however, must conquer staircases, sloped lands and viewpoints to get to the slides. There’s also a see through glass window looking down at the HSBC Rain Vortex below which is worth a stop.

Changi Experience Studio

The Changi Experience Studio, as its name suggests, brings alive a number of exquisite digital experiences found only at the Changi Airport. The Experience Studio seeks to bring its visitors behind the scenes at the Airport, offering Virtual Reality experiences where one can touch and explore how the airport works. Children at the Experience Studio can also participate in a number of digital games, some of which include a journey to remove airport trolleys, a runway race, and time travel. The Experience Studio also offers a range of immersive experiences for children, including daytime workshops and overnight camps.

HSBC Rain Vortex

Proudly claiming its status as the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, HSBC Rain Vortex is the most stunning attraction covered by the Jewel Changi tickets. The same waterfall that sits at the heart of the Shiseido Forest Valley, the Rain Vortex covers a massive height of 40 meters, extending straight from the ceiling to the floor. The cascade appears stunning during the day, as glimpses of sunlight reflect off its unbroken face. Come night, the Rain Vortex becomes a clear screen upon which a light and sound show is projected. Catch the best vantage point and let the falls do the rest!
